Milwaukee Bucks veteran Robin Lopez has not historically been friendly with mascots. Over his 15-year career, he’s had problems with mascots across the league, frequently leading to physical altercations on the court. Even just this week, Lopez attacked Indiana Pacers mascot Boomer after the mascot pulled off Lopez’s warmup pants.
But Lopez is on better terms with other mascots, as evidenced by what he did on Thursday night in San Antonio. After a dramatic Bucks win over the San Antonio Spurs (in which Lopez did not play), Lopez sought out the Spurs’ mascot, The Coyote, to share a moment of mutual respect by swapping jerseys.

This isn’t the first time this season that Lopez has swapped jerseys with a mascot. Back in November, he traded jerseys with Burnie, the mascot for the Miami Heat. Burnie is another old Lopez foe. Back in 2020, the pair wrestled before a game in Miami. But perhaps in his later years Lopez is softening a bit and setting his differences with his costumed enemies.
