Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has claimed that goalkeeper Jason Steele 'deserves' a run of Premier League games after the Seagulls backup impressed against West Ham over the weekend.
The 32-year-old has played second fiddle to regular starter Robert Sanchez all season long but was a surprise addition to the starting XI in the 4-0 win over the Hammers and could start against Javi Gracia's Leeds United this Saturday when the two sides meet at Elland Road.
Sanchez, who has been the first-choice at the Amex for over two years, could yet see his shock stint on the bench prolonged though, as the Brighton boss highlighted that Steele is more of his 'style'.

"Robert [Sanchez] is playing well but Jason [Steele] was fantastic in the build-up in my style," De Zerbi told Sussex Live after the West Ham win.
"Maybe he is closer than Robert in my style. I think Robert can arrive at the same level. They have different characteristics but Robert is a good guy and I think he will want to improve in this aspect.
"I love the competition in my dressing room and amongst the players. It is the right competition because that can help you to improve. I haven't a fixed plan in my head. I have two very good goalkeepers and I will see in the future who will be in the first XI.
"At this moment I think he [Steele] is closer to my idea, my style. Robert is improving, but at this moment Jason deserves to play. When I speak of my style, I’m speaking about the foot."
