It’s no guarantee Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will play on Sunday against the Ravens. But it’s not a guarantee he won’t play, either.
Head coach Robert Saleh told the media Monday that Wilson went through a workout today and will see how his knee responds tomorrow. Saleh acknowledged there is still a chance Wilson will be in the starting lineup Sunday. If not, it will be Joe Flacco. Saleh will make that decision on Wednesday. Wilson also did some throwing on Monday.
The original timeline for Wilson’s knee injury put him up against the wall for playing in the season-opener, but Wilson has seemingly recovered better than expected, leading to this increased optimism that he may play Sunday. That said, the Jets have said numerous times they will not rush Wilson back and won’t play him until he is 100 percent. It’s probably safe to say that even if Wilson can’t go this week, he’ll almost certainly play in Week 2 against the Browns.
