Robert Rinder has been flooded with well wishes after he was seen in hospital just hours after appearing on Good Morning Britain. The TV star, known to many as Judge Rinder, has made a string of appearances as the main host of the show and was back on Monday (February 13) alongside Ranvir Singh.
He found himself being praised by viewers after he took deputy leader of the Labour Party Angela Rayner to task over whether her party would be committed to reducing government spending.
At one point in the interview, Rob interrupted Angela as he said: "I’m so sorry, I’m going to get into terrible trouble on social media, I don’t really care – these are not difficult questions." Then at another point, the criminal barrister also snapped: "Cleaning up politics is important, I'm talking over you Angela Rayner because we don't have time, it's not a party political broadcast.
And viewers were quick to praise his shut down of the MP. @sonya_grattan tweeted: "#GMB well done Rob Rinder - keep trying to pin down those politicians to get straight answers!" @SarahHarkin2 posted: "@GMB got to love Rob we don’t have time this is not a party political broadcast #gmb."
@Warzoid shared: "Rob Rinder, single-handedly restoring political balance to British network television on #GMB." @maxcottis added: "Please please convince Rob Rinder to take up a regular spot….finally a co- presenter worth watching!"
But Rob's day couldn't have looked more different after the cameras stopped rolling as he was left undergoing an operation in hospital. Sharing pictures from his stint on the ITV news programme, the 44-year-old also posted images of him in a medical gown while laying in a hospital bed.
"Started the day holding politicians to account @gmb then meeting @lulukc and @therealsambora, ended it having a prolapsed disc jn my back healed," Rob penned alongside the post. "The challenge of life is that it can change at any moment….Hold on to joy wherever you find it…(feeling much better now.. thank you incredible medical staff) x."
And fans were soon sending their support. @ema75c said: "Hope you’re ok. I think you’re just fabulous on gmb." @robyn_scottpalmer246 wrote: "Feel better soon rob you got this!!!" @dormansparkgirl posted: "Oh no. Take it easy and get better soon."
@rachiam shared: "Goodness me best wishes and a speedy recovery to you." @suzannepontin replied: "Oh my goodness & I thought I’d had a crazy Monday!! Sending u love & wishes for a very speedy recovery Rob." @sharenmitchellsmyth added: "Oh you poor thing. Get well soooooon."
And the post also prompted calls for Rob to be made a permanent host on GMB. @stacey_algar said: "I thought you were great on tv this morning. Can’t you take the slot permanently?" @gigijordanlashes commented: "Absolutely love watching you Rob, you are real, honest and always put the public 1st. Please come on the show more often."
