Robert Pattinson's movie Mickey 17 delayed again

Robert Pattinson's movie 'Mickey 17' is delayed by a further three months

Robert Pattinson's new movie 'Mickey 17' has been delayed again.

'Parasite' director's Bong Joon Ho's upcoming sci-fi flick has shifted three months from its January 31, 2025, release date to April 18, 2025.

The new date means fans can now enjoy the film in IMAX.

A Warner Bros. spokesperson told Variety: “When the April 18 date became available, we quickly moved to secure it for ‘Mickey 17'.

“We’re thrilled with the new date, and very happy the film will be available to audiences in IMAX.”

However, it's not the first time it's been pushed back as it was originally slated for release on March 29, 2024.

The reason for the delay was due to production challenges related to last year's SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

The movie is inspired by Edward Ashton's 2022 novel 'Mickey7' and follows Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) who is a disposable employee, known as an "expendable", on an expedition to colonise the ice planet Niflheim. If Mickey dies a new body is regenerated with the majority of his memories intact.

The synopsis reads: "Whenever there's a mission that's too dangerous — even suicidal — the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.

"Mickey understands the terms of his deal... and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it."

The star-studded cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
