Robert Lewandowski has warned Erling Haaland that he still has his eye on winning the Golden Shoe at next year's Ballon d'Or awards night.
The organisers of the coveted award given to the world's best player introduced a new category last year to crown the Best Attacker. Lewandowski won the award last year as he controversially missed out on the Ballon d'Or to Lionel Messi.
The Poland international went on to score an astonishing 50 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich last term before leaving for Barcelona. He has already notched 14 goals for the Spanish giants, though that is still six strikes behind Haaland, who has made a remarkable start to his career at Manchester City.
Lewandowski though is confident he will continue to hit the goals trail for Barca as they look to retake the La Liga title. While Haaland will be formidable competition, the Barca star insisted that he had not said his "final word" in the race for the Golden Boot.
"The season is very long. For me it's also a new chapter with Barcelona and since the first day, I am feeling very well in this club. I can see it is there for me, the big challenge. I feel very well, I see that with my teammates that we have such big potential," Lewandowski said.
"I have the opportunity to score a lot of goals and I am sure that altogether we are working on this. This is football. You have to be always ready. I know that the new competition is also coming but still, I am still here and I didn't said my final word yet."

The Best Striker trophy is now named after legendary Bayern striker Gerd Muller, who's Bundesliga goals record Lewandowski beat last season. Muller passed away last year and Lewandowski paid tribute to the German icon in his victory speech.
"First of all I am very happy to be here. I'm very glad and proud, not only to win this trophy but also because of the name of this trophy. Gerd was a huge inspiration," he added.
"Even before the season I wanted to be closer to him, to try to break some records of his. That for me was a huge challenge and that's why I'm very happy. I know what kind of football player he was and what kind of person he was.
"That's why it was emotional to score these 41 goals in the Bundesliga, because this record I didn't believe that it was possible to break it. Everything that I did was for him. I want to say thank-you to my ex-teammates from Bayern Munich and my teammates at Barcelona.
"I know how hard we have to work to score these goals. In the end I have to be in a difficult position, ready to score the goals and also to help my teammates. I'm very happy to be with my new team-mates because I know that our way is the process."
