Robbie Williams is reportedly preparing to release his own brand of energy drinks following the rush to buy Prime Hydration, a drink created by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul. The Mirror reports that patent applications filed last month show Robbie, who allegedly used to drink 20 cans of Red Bull a day, applied to trademark a selection of his own energy drink products.
His bid included a “powdered nutritional supplement energy drink mix”, “electrolyte drinks for medicinal purposes” and “medicated mineral drinks”. The venture could be a huge money-spinner for the former Take That star, 48, who is already worth around £200million.
A source said: “The success of Prime hasn’t gone unnoticed by other showbiz folk. Drinks are big business, especially when they can go viral on the internet.”
Robbie’s drinks range would appear under the label Rude Pump – a nod to the singer’s 2006 album Rudebox. The patent application lodged with the Intellectual Property Office will remain in place for 10 years if it is approved. He has similar cover in place for gym gear and diet drinks.
Robbie has spoken openly in the past about his struggle with drugs and compulsive behaviour around energy drinks and food. Other stars to launch their own energy drinks include Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and rapper 50 Cent.
