Filming for the Robbie Williams biopic 'Better Man' is underway in London - as these exclusive photos show.
The Let Me Entertain You singer is set to star as himself in the film, which is being directed by The Greatest Showman’s Michael Gracey.
But while the real Robbie wasn’t seen on set as the movie was being shot in busy Regent’s Street, the actor cast to play a young Robbie when he was in Take That was.
Jonno Davies was pictured in a brown CGI suit as he danced next to his bandmates in a surreal scene which will see various faces and outfits placed on Robbie – before he turns into a monkey.
Fans will have to wait to see what the finished effect will be, but if it’s anything like The Greatest Showman it’s bound to be spectacular.
While a young Robbie - played by 30-year-old Jonno who starred in the Amazon series Hunters - is seen in the CGI suit, the rest of his bandmates are pictured in blue suits.
In other snaps, the fivesome are pictured dancing in the street in serious 90s outfits and running through central London.
Jake Simmance, who plays Gary Barlow in the film, is seen sporting bleached blonde hair in a throwback to Gary’s signature look 30 years ago.
He is joined by a hunky Howard Donald, played by Liam Head, Jesse Hyde as Mark Owen and Chase Vollenweider as Jason Orange.
Better Man will follow Robbie’s rise to fame as a singer in Take That and his successful solo career.
The scene we've got a glimpse of looks to be a reference to Take That's performance at The Brits back in 1994.
During the awards, they took to the stage to perform in matching blue suits, identical to the ones worn in the film.
Described as a 'musical fantasy' movie, it is set to tackle Robbie's demons on and off stage over the years.
Last year, The Mirror exclusively revealed how the movie almost didn’t go ahead as they struggled to find an actor confident enough to play a young Robbie.
While that role has finally been filled, Robbie says there is only one person who could play him in the present day – and that’s himself.
He said: “The thing is about films is that it is a wonder anything gets made."
Robbie continued: “Everything gets held up in a bottleneck.
"It is always, ‘This person says no and this person says yes and this person is offended and this person is not offended enough’. It is agents and lawyers.
“I am 97 per cent sure it will happen. I don’t know who will play me when I am younger but I know who will play me when I am older. You are looking at him.”
It was rumoured that his old pal Gary Barlow might have an upcoming cameo in the film, some of which has already been filmed in Australia.
But Gary denied he is making an appearance and revealed he just happened to be Down Under on holiday with his family at the same time they were filming.
Other confirmed cast members include The Great Gatsby star Kate Mulvany, Mr Inbetween star Damon Herriman and actor-filmmaker Anthony Hayes.
The production began filming back in May 2022. As yet there is no official release date, but it is likely to be at the end of 2023 or early 2024.
