Singer Robbie Williams has admitted he scuppered his own chances of igniting a much longed-for romance with fellow pop star Kylie Minogue.
The 48-year-old singer and former Take That member confessed that "not as much happened as he had wanted" after nerves stopped him trying his luck with Kylie.
The pair joined forces for hit song 'Kids' together in 2000 and had everyone talking with their steamy hot tub antics in the video.
Robbie says he was very interested in the star at the time but didn't pursue it after he 'messed up' his chances by making jokes.
The Angels singer is now happily married to wife Ayda Field and the pair share four children together, but says he still considers Kyle his 'ultimate crush'.
Speaking on Scott Mills's Radio 2 show My Life Thru A Lens, Robbie was asked if anything had ever happened between him and Kylie. The singer revealed: "Not as much as I wanted to be unfortunately.
"I messed that up by being 13 whenever I was around her. It was like the girl from the year above me. 'I don't know how to speak to you!'
"But she's my crush, my crush of all crushes."
In another part of his interview with radio DJ Scott Mills, Robbie compared himself to singer Harry Styles, as he said that he sees "a lot" of himself in the young star.
He said: "This is inconsequential but the algorithm on my YouTube threw up a video of Harry Styles talking in between songs and what he was talking about was a bit of nonsense, like I talk about, just a bit of banter.
"It was like, I see what he’s doing. He’s trying to fill a space… That stage is massive and it’s a lonely place.
"You’d better throw some shapes or you’re just going to feel awkward."
Robbie also discussed his initial departure from Take That, when he left the band in 1995, and the fall out for his relationship with former bandmate Gary Barlow.
Robbie confessed: "I think that I was in the middle of a nervous breakdown, my first of many.
"All the information going into the computer had made the computer overload … So it felt like I was in some sort of burning building and I needed to get out.
"That’s how it felt at the time. Then I was like, 'okay, I’ll do this tour and then I’ll leave'. And they actually went, 'Actually, if you’re going to leave, can you go now?'"
Since leaving the band, Robbie launched s successful solo career with hits including 'Millenium' and 'Angels'. He's now released a new album featuring new recordings of some of his best loved songs in his XXY album.
