Robbie Savage wants Chris Sutton to get off the Celtic fence - but there's no doubt over the excellence of Ange Postecoglou's team.
The Hoops continued their inevitable march to an 11th title in 12 years on Sunday with a fine 4-1 win over Kilmarnock, where all of their goals were struck in under 30 minutes, with Kyogo also missing a penalty on top of his early opener. It means that Postecoglou's Premiership champions are 12 points clear at the top with 12 games to go and are just two games away from reclaiming their crown, with a Scottish Cup semi-final to come against Rangers on what they hope is the path to the Treble.
Record Sport columnist Sutton and pundit Savage were reacting to a busy day in Scottish football on Sunday during their 606 radio show on 5Live, which included some chat on St Johnstone parting ways with boss Callum Davidson. Sutton started with a comparison to the Martin O'Neill Celtic side he was involved with and Gordon Strachan's in the 2000s, asking 'they have been incredible this season, where does this Celtic team rank under Ange Postecoglou?'
Savage turned the question on the former forward, to which he answered 'it isn't fair for me to say.' But his co-host was having none of it, responding tongue in-cheek: "Why do you answer a question with a question? Get off the fence."
But there was method as to why such a stance was taken. Sutton explained: "I would always say my team but I can't do that. Because that would be bias, Rob."
