Hearts manager Robbie Neilson has confirmed talks with trialist defender Joe Wright after his three friendly appearances for the Jambos.
The centre-back featured at Tynecastle for the first time during Saturday's 5-0 friendly win over Lowland League champions Bonnyrigg Rose, following on from minutes in outings against East Fife and Spartans midweek. Wright has spent the last year without a club after leaving Doncaster Rovers off the back of a gruesome ankle and knee injury but is determined to prove to a new club he can kickstart his career again.
An opportunity has been afforded to him in Gorgie and now Tynecastle future chats await. Neilson told the Edinburgh Evening News : “I’ll have a chat with him after and we’ll decide what we do. I think he’s done well and he’s been good to have about the place, so I’ll have a chat with him and see what’s he’s thinking.”

Whether he sticks around is another thing though, with conflicting reports emerging over the defender's situation.
Some have claimed that Wright is set to be offered permanent terms at Hearts while others suggest Neilson is looking at new targets.
