It's been a whirlwind few years for Wrexham after being taken over by Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The two have now owned the football club for nearly two years now as they would come so close to promotion last season, losing to Grimsby Town in the semi-finals of the play-offs whilst also losing in the FA Trophy Final against Bromley.
The two owners are well liked in Wrexham, and have been to a number of games whilst spending time in the small city.
This past year, a documentary was released on their journey entitled 'Welcome to Wrexham' - which has since been rebooted for a second season.
The confirmation was released via a joint video alongside the two owners after also confirming that their FA Cup qualifier would be shown on ESPN2 in the United States.
In the video, McElhenney incorrectly pronounces the name of their opponents 'Blyth Spartans'.
After receiving numerous complaints from Spartan fans, the American actor and creator of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' was quick to apologise.
He said: "Apologies to Blyth Spartans. It’s “Bl-eye-th”! A big part of this endeavor has been learning new pronunciation. Did you know it’s “R-eye-an” Reynolds?? I’ve been pronouncing it “Clementine Jehoshaphat” for years."
Wrexham would go on to win Tuesday night's game 3-2, after taking a 3-0 lead into half-time before their opponents mounted a comeback - coming a goal short and seeing Wrexham advance to the first round.
After last seasons disappointment on missing out on promotion to the EFL, Wrexham have made another terrific start to the season, sitting second in the league just a point from the top spot.
Both Reynolds and McElhenney have stated that their goal is to make Wrexham a sustainable EFL side, as they have put their money where their mouth is in spending £300,000 on Ollie Palmer - who has scored 23 goals in 34 games since his arrival.
