The wedding of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had a Rob Kardashian shaped hole in the celebrations as the reclusive reality star brother decided to shun the event.
He failed to mark the courthouse wedding that 43-year-old Kourt and 46-year-old Blink 182 drummer Travis held earlier in the month.
And he was completely absent from their lavish nuptials in the Italian fishing village of Portifino over the past weekend.
However, a valid reason has been shared as to why the 35-year-old father-of-one decided not to jet across the Atlantic to watch his oldest sister get married for the first time.
And apparently it is his desire to stay out of the spotlight and a dislike for travel that prompted Rob to tick the ‘unable to attend’ box on his wedding invite.
A source told PageSix: “Rob prefers to stay out of the spotlight, so he would’ve been uncomfortable going to such a high-profile party even though it was for his sister.”
While another source told the outlet: “Rob is not big on public events or traveling but is looking forward to celebrating with the newlyweds when they arrive home in California.”
It is also reported that Kourtney has been “understanding” of Rob’s decision to avoid the wedding altogether.
Rob, like his sisters, was thrown into the spotlight back in 2007 with the launch of all-consuming reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
He remained a relative fixture on the show before pulling out of appearances in 2017 – with the star appearing in just a handful of episodes before the series finally ended in 2021.
He was in a highly publicised, and highly dramatic, relationship with model Blac Chyna that raged from 2016 until 2017 and included the arrival of their daughter, Dream, in November 2016.
The romance collapsed amid scandal and legal issues with Rob being accused of leaking explicit images of his ex following the end of their romance.
He took a step out fo the spotlight following the end of the relationship – which also included an ill-fated reality show called Rob & Chyna which lasted just one season before it was cancelled.
Fans were excited to see Rob attending Kourtney’s birthday in June 2020 – where he posed for rare public photos with his sibling.
He had battled depression and weight issues in the years between his reality show being axed and his appearance at the party – with fans noting how happy he looked at the celebrations.
A source told The Sun at the time: This is the best anyone has seen Rob in years.
“There were times over the past five or so years where no one was sure he’d bounce back from everything and be the Rob we knew and loved.
“But he has, ever so slowly... The jokes are back, his play fighting etc, he feels like himself again.
“It’s a long journey still but he is definitely on the right track and feels optimistic again and that he has a purpose and a future.”
