Rob Gronkowski: Darren Waller will return to Pro Bowl form with Giants

Rob Gronkowski, the ‘retired’ four-time Super Bowl Champion and four-time first-team All-Pro tight end knows a few things about the position he played in the NFL.

In a recent interview with Kay Adams on Up &Adams, Gronk predicted that Darren Waller, in his first year with the New York Giants, will have a bounce-back, Pro Bowl season.

“(Brian Daboll) loves to use tight ends,” Gronkowski said. “I say this: Watch Darren Waller have a year this year. He’s going to have a year.”

Just how good of a year? Adams pressed Gronk for more.

“Yeah, yeah. He’s going to be up there this year,” Gronk said when asked if Waller will be the NFL’s best tight end. “Daboll is going to find a way to use him and utilize his skill set like no other. He’s going to be all over the field.

“This year I believe he’s going to come back and he’s going to be a Pro Bowl-caliber type player.”

Gronk knows that Waller will be under the watchful eye of Daboll, who incidentally was his position coach in New England for four seasons, and tight ends coach Andy Bischoff, a 30-year coaching veteran.

Waller was a Pro Bowler for the Las Vegas Raiders back in 2020 but injuries the last two seasons limited his production. The Giants sent a 2023 third-round to the Raiders on March 15 this year in exchange for Waller.
