Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow has become the latest celebrity to host a CBeebies Bedtime Story. Burrow, whose battle against MND has gone global, has joined a star-studded list on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Burrow was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in December 2019 but has continued to accomplish so much in his efforts to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure. With the use of ground-breaking technology which allows him to speak using his eyes, he reads ‘Tilda Tries Again’ during the broadcast.
The likes of England and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and actor Tom Hardy have previously hosted the show. Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Burrow said: “I loved doing the CBeebies Bedtime Story because it brought back so many memories of me reading stories to my own children.

"Reading is so important and is accessible to everyone no matter what disability you may have. I can no longer speak because MND has affected my speech muscles. But it doesn’t stop me reading to my three children. I hope you all enjoy listening to the story.”
The programme will air at 6.50pm on Saturday, December 3, on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
