Rob Burrow is a man who will always be synonymous with Leeds Rhinos. A sparkling career saw him win multiple trophies and become a poster boy for the Golden Generation. But since his retirement five years ago, the trophies have dried up.
But, five years on from Burrow's final game and final trophy in blue and amber, Leeds are one win away from the next. On Friday, they booked their place at Old Trafford for the first time since 2017 as they defeated Wigan Warriors.
Among those watching on was, of course, their former number seven. Burrow, who is continuing his battle with Motor Neurone Disease, remains an avid supporter of the club where he will be remembered as a legend.

Following the victory, Burrow was among those passing on their congratulations to the current crop of Rhinos. The team has changed a lot since then; only Liam Sutcliffe and Tom Briscoe remain from the 2017 title-winning side, but his pride in the new group, some of whom he coached following retirement, was clear to see.
Taking to Twitter after the game he left a short message to the Rhinos, posting: "I'm absolutely buzzing for the lads #mot." His tweet was picked up by a number of Leeds fans, who passed on their well wishes to Burrow while declaring that success at Old Trafford next season would be dedicated to him. "This one is going to be for you," @RhinosFaithful posted. Who could argue with that?
