Rob Burrow's daughters launch amazing Leeds Rhinos Magic Weekend kit

Leeds Rhinos and OXEN Sports UK have unveiled a 2022 Magic Weekend shirt which has been designed by Rob Burrow’s children .Rohan Smith’s side will face Burrow’s hometown club Castleford Tigers at Newcastle United’s iconic St James’ Park on Saturday, July 9.

The game will kick off at 7pm and be the third and final fixture of the first day of the annual jamboree. They will wear a shirt emblazoned with a number seven on the front, signifying Burrow’s squad number during his glorious Headingley career, which has been designed by his children Macy, Maya and Jackson.

Legendary former Rhinos scrum-half Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019 and has battled bravely against the incurable condition. Each shirt includes a donation of £5 to both the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Castleford will also pay tribute to Burrow when the arch rivals meet at Magic Weekend. The Tigers will similarly wear a special jersey in honour of Burrow, who was raised in Castleford.

A Tigers spokesman said: “Rob and his family have been incredible ambassadors for the MND community and we as a club are thrilled to do our part in also raising funds with our new kit.” The predominantly black shirt, designed in conjunction with Tigers’ official kit supplier OXEN, features orange hoops and the Rob Burrow 7 signature fundraising logo.
