Rob revealed he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in in December 2019 and has campaigned since to help fight the condition. Rob is seen as an inspiration and many in the comments were appalled at the vandalism.
The tweet reads: "Well oh well - my family went out, with my wonderful Son Rob, for a lovely meal at Rockello’s in Glasshoughton Castleford tonight. Unfortunately a disgrace of a person decided to scratch all over Rob’s Disability van
"How low are some people hey ! Sleep well you scum of a person."
People stood in solidarity for Geoff and Rob in the comments under the tweet, with some asking if anyone can help following the incident.

You, your family and that legend of a son just keep showing the way and inspiring." @Jon added: "If we can work out how to get this repaired Geoff give me a yell. Happy to fundraise."
@Kay said: "Don’t let one nasty person tarnish the love and respect that the people of Castleford & Pontefract have for all the Burrow family". @Jase said: "How disgraceful. Hope they get seen on camera and dealt with. That said..don’t let it spoil your evening and time, you’ve one hell of a son and are an amazing family. Have a lovely Christmas all, and best wishes."
Earlier this week, fans were left in tears after Rob and his teammate and best friend Kevin Sinfield won at the Sports Personality of The Year awards.
