Road restrictions for Guns N’Roses, Arctic Monkeys and Muse near Glasgow's Bellahouston Park

Glasgow's south side is a popular spot for people to venture to of a weekend whether it's to see what they can pick up at the local markets or visit their favourite food spot.

However, it's set to get a lot busier over the coming days with three major bands set to play in Bellahouston Park.

Kicking off the line-up of artists performing at the popular gig spot is Muse who are taking to the stage tonight (June 23). A few days later, Arctic Monkeys will play at the Park on Sunday, June 25.

And to finish the busy week, Axel and co will also perform in the same spot with Guns n Roses performing on Tuesday (June 27). Originally set to take place in Glasgow Green, the long-awaited gig has finally come for fans who have had to deal with two cancellations, one of which was due to Covid-19.

Whilst the next few days are set to be busy with more people gathering in the area than normal, Glasgow City Council has posted a warning on its website, telling road users that restrictions will be in place during the events. As such, people should plan ahead and ensure they have a safe way of getting to and from the concerts.

Muse will kick-off proceedings tonight (June 23) before Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’Roses take to the stage with the latter playing on Tuesday (June 27) and Arctic Monkeys Sunday (June 25). It is not yet known whether the Sunday gig will go ahead after the band had to cancel their performance at Dublin’s Marlay Park as frontman Alex Turner was suffering from “acute laryngitis”, but they are due to headline Glastonbury this evening with no mention yet that they won’t take to the Pyramid Stage.

To cater for the large crowds expected in the Southside of the city, Glasgow City Council has implemented road restrictions around the surrounding area which is likely to cause some disruption to those who live in the area.
