The RNLI were deployed in the Bristol Channel off the coast of South Wales after a 55-foot vessel was engulfed in flames. Dramatic images from the scrambled lifeboat crews show the large boat ablaze on the water, a few miles off the Aberthaw coast on Saturday night.
The two occupants of the boat were said to have escaped in lifeboats. A crew from the nearby Bristol Interceptor were able to pick up the stricken passengers from their life raft while the local RNLI were deployed, reports Wales Online.
A crew from Barry in South Wales were quickly at the scene of the burning vessel, which they described as being "engulfed" in flames. By the time they arrived, the burning boat was 1.5 miles south of Aberthaw.

When they arrived at the scene, a volunteer crew member was transferred onto the Bristol Interceptor, where they administered casualty care, and remained there until the pilot vessel sailed back to Barry Harbour.
"The RNLI all-weather lifeboat remained on scene with the burning vessel but unfortunately the vessel sank," said the lifeboat station in the post and shared pictures of the fire and smoke billowing from the boat
