PATNA: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad will be airlifted to Delhi for further treatment at AIIMS. At present he is in a private hospital of Patna for the past three days and undergoing treatment after he fell from two steps at his family residence and broke two of his bones, a shoulder one and a pelvic bone.
Sources said Lalu is not able to maintain oxygen level on his own and is on Bipap. Hospital’s director DR A Hai said, “He is much better than before and is stable. Now he is being shifted to Delhi as he had been under the supervision of doctors over there for a long time.”
A source close to the family said Lalu’s aide and former MLA Bhola Yadav had already left for Delhi on Wednesday morning to make arrangements over there. “While Bhola babu is looking after the hospital management, Tejashwi is coordinating with hospital in Patna and air ambulance,” said an RJD leader, adding his elder daughter Misa Bharti will accompany him in the air ambulance and other family members will go to Delhi by flight.
During the day, chief minister Nitish Kumar had gone to the hospital to take stock of RJD supremo’s. Before him, health minister Mangal Pandey had also gone to see Lalu.
