Most car companies talk a big game when it comes to their carbon footprint. They always talk about reducing their overall emissions usage, recycled materials, and improved manufacturing techniques. But Rivian actually wants to prove it. The electric truck company just released its 2025 Impact Report and R2 Circularity, Energy, & Carbon Footprint Report, which prove that the Rivian R2 is twice as good for the polar bears as the R1.
Admittedly, we're talking lifecycle carbon footprint, not the manufacturing phase alone. Thanks to lighter weight and improved aero, the Rivian R2 is simply more efficient rolling down the road than its heavier, larger sibling. But it's also cleaner to make.
