Riverdance star Michael Flatley undergoes surgery for 'aggressive cancer'

The Riverdance star Michael Flately has had surgery for 'an aggressive for of cancer', it's been announced. The news was posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday (January 11) night.

The Irish-American dancer, who is 64 years old, is being cared for by a team of doctors. According to the social media post, he was diagnosed and had an operation.

It's not known what sort of cancer, or what the prognosis for Flatley is after the surgery. His team has asked for privacy.
