Rituals held at new Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams temple

TIRUPATI: Priests of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) ceremoniously carried out the Ankurarpanam fete at the new Lord Venkateswara temple in Amaravati on Saturday.

The new Lord Balaji Mandir at Amaravati has been constructed by the TTD at a cost of over 30 crore. The TTD will carry out a series of Agamic rituals over the next four days in connection with the new temple's Mahakumbhabhishekam, slated to be held on June 9.

TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy has already extended an invite to chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and several other VVIPs to take part in the fete.

On June 9, TTD will perform the Vimana Gopura Kalasha Avahana and other rituals.
