Australia's rising sit skier Josh Hanlon is refusing to let an agonising start to the Milan-Cortina Paralympic Games derail his bid for a maiden gold medal.

A former AFL prospect with GWS, Hanlon crashed just seconds into his run down the Olympia delle Tofane course in Cortina on Saturday's first day of competition.
