The Tories will be hoping it’s third time lucky with our prime ministers this year.
Boris Johnson was as useless at running the country as he was chaotic in his personal life.
He could not see a rule without breaking it – even the lockdown ones he imposed himself.
And he tried to let cronies off the hook when they should have been hung out to dry.
It now seems astonishing that only last weekend he thought he could be PM again before upsetting those MPs backing him by suddenly pulling out without even telling them.
Liz Truss was in post 49 days so there’s not much to say about her, beyond that she was a disaster.
If there is anything to be said for Mr Johnson it is that he was committed to combating climate change – worryingly, Mr Sunak shows no such enthusiasm.
He has not only demoted two ministers responsible for our green agenda but cannot bother himself with the COP27 summit.
Plus, he was happy to take £141,000 from donors linked to gas and oil to help fund his leadership campaign.
The PM should call a general election because he has no mandate to govern. Not a single vote was cast for him last week.
And democracy demands we all have our say.
Sort cannabis drug
Just going on the figures, Alfie Dingley is a medical miracle.
He used to have 500 life-threatening epileptic fits a month but he has now gone nearly 1,000 days without a seizure.
But mum Hannah Deacon knows there is absolutely nothing miraculous about it.
What Alfie needed was medicinal cannabis and she moved heaven and earth to make sure he got it.
However, there are thousands of others who could be helped by the drug but either have to spend a fortune in private clinics or source it illegally since they cannot get it on funded prescriptions.
Trials need to be speeded up so more patients can enjoy the same benefits Alfie does now.
We’re not asking for miracles. Just for new Health Secretary Steve Barclay to pull his finger out to get this treatment approved at last.
