Rishi Sunak has officially resigned as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after tendering his resignation to the King during an audience at Buckingham Palace. The announcement was made by Buckingham Palace in a statement confirming that the King graciously accepted Sunak's resignation as Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.

Accompanied by his wife, Akshata Murty, Sunak was seen leaving Buckingham Palace following the audience with the King. The resignation marks the end of Sunak's tenure as the head of the UK government.
