Extraordinary leaked video footage shows Rishi Sunak bragging that he could funnel public cash from 'deprived urban areas' and give it to more affluent towns should he wish to do so.
A clip recorded in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, at the end of July shows the ex-Chancellor saying that Labour's formulas targeting poorer parts of the country 'needed to be undone'. And in the same breath, he explained to Tory Party members that he had started to change these formulas, to ensure 'areas like this are getting the funding they deserve'.
Labour's shadow levelling up secretary, Lisa Nandy, has branded the new revelation "scandalous" and said the Conservatives were "showing their true colours".
