Rio Ferdinand makes fresh title prediction amid Arsenal and Man City twist claim

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has predicted further twists in the Premier League title race between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side currently sit one point clear of the north Londoners whilst also boasting a game in hand on their title rivals. The reigning champions have just one home fixture left, against Chelsea, with their other three matches all away from the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, two of the Gunners' games will be played in north London, their only away game being against relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest. Now, Ferdinand has claimed that it is unlikely to be plain sailing for City but did admit that he thinks the league leaders will eventually come out on top.

"There’s a twist or two still left, I think," the former England international told his YouTube channel. "But I don’t think there will be enough for Arsenal to go and win it.

"As much as I banter Arsenal, what they have done this season is nothing short of amazing. You have given this juggernaut of a team (Man City) a run for the title for the whole of the season, remarkable stuff."

Ferdinand also waxed lyrical about Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, who has now netted 15 times in the Premier League this season, a tally that reads even more impressive when you consider that none of those are from the penalty spot. "Odegaard, your Player of the Season, came up trumps again," he added when discussing the Norwegian's goal during Sunday's 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

"He did a few bits in that first-half which were (sic) different level."
