Rio Ferdinand gives honest Chelsea vs Arsenal prediction and it doesn't bode well for Arteta

Rio Ferdinand has told the Vibe With Five podcast that he simply cannot see Arsenal getting a result when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the Premier League tomorrow night.

Jan Bednarek's goal just before half-time on Saturday gave Southampton a 1-0 win over the Gunners at St Mary's. The defeat inflicted more misery on the north Londoners, who suffered a further setback in their hopes to secure a top-four finish this season.

Arsenal were thought to be in the driving seat for Champions League football just two weeks ago, but defeat in each of their last three games has completely altered proceedings. The recent string of poor results for the Gunners means that Tottenham now occupy fourth, whilst Manchester United have also climbed above Mikel Arteta's side into fifth on goal difference - although the north London outfit do have a game in hand on both of their major top-four rivals.

The Gunners seem to be massively struggling without two of their key competitors, Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey, both of whom look to have played their last game this season. With Takehiro Tomiyasu also still out, Arteta's squad has been stretched very thin.

Now, Ferdinand thinks that they've got next to no chance of securing a result against Thomas Tuchel's Blues, who are incidentally fresh off of qualifying for the FA Cup final.

“Chelsea have got Arsenal. Massive game. Can Arsenal turn it around? I don’t know, it’s been a bad couple of games for them. Chelsea look to be back in form, got themselves in the final. Wow, I don’t see Arsenal getting a result there," he said.

Ferdinand's argument does carry weight, especially when you consider the Gunners' struggles in front of goal recently. Nevertheless, they'll be hoping to turn things around if they can to help try and build some momentum ahead of a crucial end to the season.
