Rio Ferdinand has claimed he didn't see enough from Anthony Gordon to warrant his price-tag after completing a move from Everton to Newcastle United.
The former Blues attacker swapped Merseyside for Tyneside towards the latter stage of the January transfer window for an undisclosed fee after handing in a transfer request.
His departure spelt an end to his time with the club after signing when he was 11. He departed Goodison Park after just seven goals in 65 Premier League appearances.

"Wayne Rooney - there's no way you can pay enough money unless you're Chelsea or Man City, you'd have to be a state-owned club," Ferdinand said on BT Sport's Early Kick-Off when asked how much Wayne Rooney would be worth.
The scouser broke into Everton's first-team at 16 before signing for Manchester United in 2004 for around £30m. Ferdinand added: "Rooney was not on the stratosphere as the players we're seeing go.
"I think Anthony Gordon, it's overpriced. for his output, goals and assists - I haven't seen enough to warrant that price-tag. He's a perfect Eddie Howe player, young impressionable, someone who has a lot to prove, hungry, I think he'll do well. But after that price, it's a big price.
"I saw the clips almost getting him pulled out his car, at that moment I knew it was time up. If I'm a player I'm not having that, you're either here to support me through thick and thin or you're not," he said on the protests after the Southampton game.
