Both Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown have backed Arsenal to win their first Premier League title in 19 years.
Mikel Arteta's side currently sit on top of the table, five points clear of second-place Manchester City despite having played one game less than the Citizens in the league this term. However, the Gunners still have 19 games to go, something that Keown made sure to point out when he was asked if he thinks they can win the title come May.
"I’m a believer, yes, but it’s an awful long way to go with Man City in the background," Keown said. "They’re the holders of this, and this Arsenal is a new team that are reaching out and trying to develop.
"For a while now we’ve known that Arsenal could compete, but it doesn’t become reality unless you put all the hard work in and you overcome difficult obstacles. Today (playing Everton) is a really difficult obstacle for Arsenal."

Manchester United legend Ferdinand then echoed his fellow BT Sport pundit's sentiment, simply saying: "I agree." If Arsenal are able to fend off City and co. for the remainder of the campaign, it would be the first time that the title has come to north London since the 'Invincibles' season of 2003/04 when Arsene Wenger's team went the entire campaign undefeated in the league.
The Gunners made sure to improve their squad during the January transfer window in an attempt to add depth ahead of the title run-in, with Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, Polish centre-back Jakub Kiwior and Italian central midfielder Jorginho joining from Brighton, Spezia and Chelsea respectively. Trossard enjoyed an impressive debut off the bench during Arsenal's 3-2 win over Manchester United last month whilst both Kiwior and Jorginho are both still waiting to make their first appearance for the north London outfit.
