Rimac unveiled an updated variant of the Nevera electric hypercar at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week. The new top-spec version, known as the Nevera R, boasts enhancements in power, battery technology, and exterior design for improved styling and aerodynamics.
The Nevera R features a sleeker nose design with a single clamshell, enhancing aerodynamic downforce and reducing drag. The addition of a dual-level rear wing and a larger rear diffuser further improves performance by increasing lateral grip and reducing understeer.
With a new battery pack boasting a 108-kilowatt-hour capacity and four motors producing a peak rating of 2,107 horsepower, the Nevera R aims to prioritize handling while delivering exceptional power. The vehicle is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 1.74 seconds and reach a quarter-mile in 8.23 seconds.
Additional upgrades include new carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and improved torque vectoring software. The battery chemistry has been optimized to output and absorb more energy efficiently, allowing for sustained high performance and rapid charging.
The Nevera R has already entered production at Rimac's Croatian campus, with a 300,000 euro premium over the standard Nevera's price tag. Rimac hinted at a potential race program to break production car records at the Nürburgring, showcasing the vehicle's performance capabilities.
The limited run of 40 Nevera R variants will contribute to the total production of 150 Neveras. Customer deliveries are expected to commence early next year, following a positive response at The Quail event.
Rimac's innovative approach to electric hypercars continues to push boundaries in the automotive industry, offering cutting-edge technology and unparalleled performance in the Nevera R.
