Rihanna can’t vote during the 2024 US presidential election, but she’s been trying to convince fans to vote on her behalf. Being the true queen she is, RiRi popped up an Instagram Reel joking about sneaking into the polls.
“POV: me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport #votecauseicant,” she wrote over a video of herself looking out a car window.
“When protecting pussies and firing pussies can happen all in one vote,” Rihanna added in the caption.
The Barbados-born singer isn’t eligible to vote because she doesn’t have US citizenship, but her joke flew right over a bunch of people’s heads. No, she’s not ~actually~ sneaking into the polls with her toddler’s passport!!
After getting hit with a bunch of snooze-worthy comments about her trying to cast an illegal vote, Rihanna got sassy with some iconic replies.
One user said that “illegal voting is a crime” and called for Rihanna to be “arrested for trying”, to which RiRi replied: “shut up Karen”.
After a troll said both Trump and Harris were “exactly the same”, Rihanna called them the “Donkey of the day”. A lovely catchphrase that will now have a permanent place in my vocab.
“I voted for closed borders, deportations, and staying out of foreign conflicts. Abortions are probably nowhere near as important as y’all are making it seem,” another commenter wrote.
Rihanna’s reply? Chef’s kiss! “You’re fucked! And so is the America you dream of. Hope you don’t have to find out the hard way,” RiRi said.
When another said Rihanna could have voted if she’d “set up her paper for voting as [a] migrant”, she clapped back, hard.
“I LOVE my Bajan passport. I came here to work and pay taxes! You’re welcome,” Rihanna replied.
Another commenter dared to criticise Rihanna (honestly, when will they learn?), accusing the singer of wanting to “cheat to win”. She replied, saying, “Lol! When y’all stop burning ballot boxes come check me”.
She was referring to the ballot drop boxes set on fire in Oregon, because apparently Americans can just drop their votes off at random boxes in public? Which is mind-boggling, but anyway.

Honestly, the only thing better than Rihanna getting rogue in the comment section is if she’d finally release new music. But look, we’ll take what we can get!!!
