• Speaking to The Times , Scott joked about the praise and confirmed he does not view the movie as the century's finest film himself.
• Tarantino originally picked Black Hawk Down ahead of critically acclaimed titles such as Toy Story 3, Lost in Translation , and There Will Be Blood .
• Scott also criticised the state of modern cinema, arguing that superhero films and repetitive crime dramas have oversaturated the market.
• The 88-year-old filmmaker is releasing his latest project, post-pandemic drama The Dog Stars starring Jacob Elordi, in cinemas next week.
