Rider airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after motorbikes crash near Scots loch

A rider has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after two motorbikes crashed on the A82 near Loch Ba. Emergency services were called to the scene in the Rannoch Moor area at around 11.45am on Saturday, October 1, following reports of an accident.

The two Suzuki motorbikes, one silver and one blue, were travelling south at the time of the collision. The 50-year-old driver of the silver bike was flown to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Medics describe their condition as serious but non-life threatening.

No one else was injured. Crash investigators are keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage from the area that may help with their enquiries.

Constable Mary Boyd, of the Road Policing Unit at Fort William Police Station, said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.

“We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the two vehicles involved.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 0982 of 1 October.”
