Former Brookside star Ricky Tomlinson is set to host a special screening of the former Liverpool soap's first ever episode.
The event will be taking place at the Florrie in Dingle, Liverpool 8 on February 23. The screening will be followed by a night of discussion and fundraising.
Writers and producers Jimmy McGovern, Colin McKeon, Andy Lynch and John Oakden will join Ricky for a panel discussion following the screening. Between them they have worked on TV classics and favourites such as Brookside, Dockers, Eastenders, Emmerdale, Cracker, Hollyoaks, Grange Hill, Moving On and many more.
The writers will take questions from the audience offering tips and tricks to careers in writing for TV and film. Doors open at 6pm with tickets £3 directly from the Florrie or £5 on the door.

Host Ricky Tomlinson said: "This is an opportunity for any aspiring writers or anyone who wants to try and get a start in TV Production to come along and talk to some of the best writers and TV producers Liverpool has. Who knows, there may be a diamond out there in our community that hasn't had the opportunity to go to drama or writing school and doesn't know how to get a break into the business.
“It's a great lineup of the best Liverpool has, who will talk about how they started in the business and hopefully pass on some of their knowledge. It's an occasion for anyone who has never written".
Food and drinks are available to purchase on the night, before the first episode of Brookside is screened at 6.30pm. The panel discussion is 7-8pm. A charity auction takes place after this where you can get your hands on TV memorabilia.
Money raised will go towards the activities of the Florrie, such as their community and youth hubs, events and much more. The evening finishes at 9pm.
Ricky played Bobby Grant in Brookside alongside his screen wife Sheila Grant played by Sue Johnson. Later he went on to play Jim Royle in the Royle Family and was joined by his previous screen wife Sue, who played Barbara Royle.
He is most remembered for these roles, but his most memorable role Ricky told the ECHO: "I’ve done loads but one I could really put myself to the test was a character, Harold Peach in Nasty Neighbours (about 1999) It was written and directed by Debbie Isitt.
"It was a low budget film but was wonderful, it won great reviews at the Venice Film Festival”.
