Ricky Tomlinson issues tribute after The Royle Family's Peter Martin dies aged 82

Ricky Tomlinson has issued a tribute to Peter Martin after he died aged 82.

The two shared the screen together in the iconic BBC sitcom, The Royle Family. Peter was renowned for his role as Joe Carroll in the show and played the character from 1998 - 2012.

Ricky portrayed Jim Royle in the classic comedy and a friend of the Liverpool actor has taken to Twitter to share his words in honour of Peter's legacy. Comedian John Martin said: "Ricky Tomlinson (who doesn’t do social media) has asked me to pay tribute to Peter Martin who sadly has passed away.
