Cricket legend Ricky Ponting has opened up about the health scare which saw him rushed to hospital on Friday while commentating on the first Test between Australia and the West Indies in Perth.
Ponting left the ground at lunch after suffering chest pains, lightheadedness and dizziness. The 47-year-old was on commentary at the time and thanked his close friend and former teammate Justin Langer and Channel 7's executive producer Chris Jones for urging him to go to the hospital.
After returning to the commentary box a day later, Ponting recalled the "scary moment" and said he now feels "all shiny and new". He said: "I probably scared a lot of people yesterday and had a scary moment for myself.
