Rishi Sunak has said he will publish his tax return "very shortly" - more than 100 days after "richest PM in history" promised to do so.
The multi-millionaire Tory leader first pledged to lift the lid on his vast wealth during his failed leadership campaign against Liz Truss in the summer of 2022.
Weeks after winning the keys to No10 after her short-lived Government collapsed, he said at the G20 summit in November he stood by the vow.
Pushed on whether it will come before Christmas, he told reporters at the time: "I have to talk to the Cabinet Office to check on the precedent for how those things happen, but I have absolutely no trouble doing it.”
But months later details of Mr Sunak's tax return have failed to materialise.
Pressing him on the issue, the Labour MP Richard Burgon said: "Over 100 days ago the Prime Minister promised to publish his tax returns. He still hasn't.
He added: "People want transparency in our politics, especially because the Prime Minister is the richest prime minister in history and because of the concerns there have been."
"So, why on earth hasn't the Prime Minister published his tax returns yet? When will he do so? And when he does so, will he include his US tax returns?"
In response, Mr Sunak said: "As I have previously confirmed, I will publish my tax returns and that will be done very shortly".
Last year the ex-Chancellor became the first frontline politician to appear on The Sunday Times' Rich List alongside his wife, Akshata Murty.
The newspaper said the pair had a joint £730million fortune.
In 2022 Ms Murty - the daughter of one of India's richest men - faced intense criticism after it was revealed she had been claiming non-dom status.
She eventually agreed to pay UK tax on all her worldwide income, saying she did not want her tax status to be a "distraction for my husband".
