Chloe Madeley has revealed that her dear dad, Richard, was busy hosting Good Morning Britain while she was undergoing an emergency caesarean section ahead of the birth of her baby daughter last month.
Proud mum Chloe, 35, and sports star husband James Haskell became proud parents to their baby girl, Bodhi Rae Georgia, on August 10.
While the couple have opened up about their pride at becoming a mum and dad together, the arrival of baby Bodhi was far from plain sailing for the pair.
Almost a month on from the arrival of their little girl, Chloe has shared details of her birthing story and the terrifying moment she was wheeled off to have an emergency caesarean over concerns about Bodhi's decreasing heart rate.
Previously, Chloe explained that while 'childbirth did not go to plan', she was grateful for all the 'compassionate, skilled, knowledgeable and experienced women' who assisted her in welcoming her first child into the world.
In a new interview with OK! magazine, Chloe revealed that while she was undergoing the emergency caesarean, her famous dad was busy hosting Good Morning Britain - but he was being kept up-to-date on his daughter's health at all times.
The presenter, 66, revealed he was getting texts and updates all the way through the programme.
Richard said he was telling his co-host Charlotte Hawkins: 'It's all kicking off' and later sought comfort as Chloe was wheeled off for emergency surgery.
Following the stressful birth of her first baby, Chloe and James are basking in parenthood while staying with Chloe's parents, Richard and Judy - something which the new mum describes as a 'blessing'.
Sharing some insight into their living situation, Chloe explained that her dad has been a massive help when it comes to looking after baby Bodhi, with star star even describing her famous dad as a 'baby whisperer'.
"Dad’s been scooping Bodhi up and taking her upstairs in the mornings to my mum so she can have an hour-long cuddle, just them two, which I think is the sweetest thing in the world,” Chloe told.
"They’re really besotted and I’m so grateful we’re staying with my parents during this time, it’s just been so lovely.
"As soon as he starts talking to Bodhi, she just settles like an absolute dream. He’s like the baby whisperer," she added.
Sharing his own experience on becoming a grandfather, Richard told: "We’ve felt very close to the baby, literally, and we now have that incredible sense of miracle where one minute she’s been a huge bulge in our daughter’s tummy and the next she’s a real-life kicking, squealing human being.”
Although she endured quite a tough birth, Chloe is certain that it was all worth it for her adorable bundle of joy.
