NEW YORK — The super-exclusive Maidstone Club in East Hampton has been rocked by the death of “caddie master” Kevin Somers, 45, at the nearby home of another club employee, Marc Dern, 35.
Suffolk County Police arrested Dern Thursday for allegedly killing the popular employee. Somers, of Amagansett, died “following an altercation” at Dern’s home on Lincoln Ave. at around 10:40 p.m. Feb. 5, according to local reports. Dern was charged with first degree manslaughter.
Somers was taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, “where he was pronounced dead,” according to police.
The WASPy Maidstone is known better for all the people the golf club has rejected than for its members, who include Chevy Chase, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson and Paul McCartney, who got in through his marriage to Linda Eastman.
Among the rejects are Donald Trump, Diana Ross and Groucho Marx, who said, “I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.”

A documentary about infamous Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione may have to film without the participation of his three sons.
Bob Guccione Jr. said he was interviewed briefly by a producer for A&E, which is producing the documentary, but “I got a queasy feeling. My brother Nicky first raised the alarm and said it would be scurrilous.”
Bob, editor and publisher of online travel magazine Wonderlust, told me, “The Guccione family is not interested in cooperating.”
A&E spokesman Dan Silberman said, “The project is still in development. Some move forward. Some don’t.”
Jim Rich, former editor-in-chief of the Daily News and ex-editorial director of G/O Media, the company behind Deadspin and 10 other websites, is producing and declined comment.
The A&E team is hoping to film Conde Nast queen Anna Wintour, who worked for Guccione before she landed at Vogue, as well as two women whose nude photos appeared in the mag, Miss America in 1983, Vanessa Williams, and Bill Clinton accuser Paula Jones.
Dozens of Penthouse Pets and former staffers are eager to relive their youth.
“They already spoke to Gennifer Flowers who wouldn’t stop talking,” said my source.
Flowers got $250,000 for posing nude for the mag in 1992, and divulging sordid details of her one-time tryst with Bill Clinton.
Guccione lived in two townhouses combined on East 67th Street. featuring a ground-floor swimming pool. The mansion just sold for $80 million.

Poor Meghan Markle is staying out of the limelight — and avoiding cameras — because she is having trouble losing the pounds she put on during her last pregnancy.
The wife of Prince Harry gave birth to Lilibet last June, but like millions of other mothers, she’s struggling to get rid of the baby weight.
“Meghan is 20 pounds over her wedding day weight, and she doesn’t want to be photographed,” said my source.
In the rare family photo released in December, a smiling Markle wore a black sweater while holding up her baby.
“She had no trouble getting back in shape after Archie was born, and she is mystified why she is having so much trouble this time.”
Markle and her personal trainer have some time before Queen Elizabeth celebrates her Diamond Jubilee over a four-day bank holiday weekend in June.
“Prince Harry and his family have to be there,” said my source. The queen has yet to meet her great-grandchildren. “Skipping it is not an option.”

Sylvester Stallone might not seem very artistic as the star of “Rocky” and “Rambo” and all their sequels. But in real life he’s a painter.
Stallone will show 15 canvases at Isabelle Bscher’s Galerie Gmurzynska at the Palm Beach County Convention Center for five days starting Thursday.
“Painting is where I feel close to a bare-naked truth, so much so that I look at the canvas as some sort of an enemy,” Stallone, who lives in Palm Beach with his family, told Artnet.
Bscher will host a dinner in Sly’s honor at Le Bilboquet.

Chef Andrew Molen could write a history book instead of a cookbook.
His family was granted 43,000 acres by the King of Spain before Mexico declared independence and claimed California in 1821. The U.S. government in 1870 issued them a renewed land patent for their hacienda.
But Molen, an avid skier who is running two restaurants at Foxrun Golf Club in Ludlow, Vermont, is doing a cookbook with his mother Sandra Arcara who is also a chef. The book, out this April, will cover the family’s recipes going back 150 years.

African American designer Vava Zadi will salute Black History Month during his Fashion Week show at Hudson Yards on Saturday.
The designer will feature model/actor Shaun Melady, whose next gig is tailor-made for the handsome hunk featured in Anheuser-Busch beer ads. Melady will take on the key playboy role in the second season of “Gossiping Grams.”
