Emma Freud has been left devastated after a fire ripped through the Suffolk home she shares with partner Richard Curtis at the weekend.
The shaken broadcaster, 60, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal her brother had come to the rescue, with 60 firefighters arriving to tackle the blaze which took hold of the property - completely destroying their bedroom and roof.
Emma shared photos of smoke pluming out of the 18th century property in the picturesque coastal village, which she believes was started by an electrical fault.
She wrote: "Has been a grim few days. Electrical fault caused a fire at our home. [...] We are safe [but] no roof, or bedroom, or clothes."
Emma said 60 firefighters had attended to the property for 8 hours, with her describing the crews as "incredible."
The house is said to have been in Freud's family since the 1930s, with the couple spending lockdown there together.
The columnist further commented in her posts: "Thank you so much for the kind kind messages. We are lucky; we're insured, we've been lent a house [and] we aren't hurt."
A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the crew attended the blaze at 10pm on Sunday night, with 14 different units sent in response.
"Crews found a fire on the first and second floor, as well as the roof cavity, resulting in part of the property's roof needing to be cut away," the spokesperson further stated.

The roof was cut to "help crews reach some of the hot spots," with the spokesperson adding: "No persons were injured in the fire and crews have now left the scene."
It's been reported Freud and Curtis' primary residence is a property in London, though he has previously revealed that they lived in Suffolk throughout the Covid lockdowns.
Freud and Curtis - who is known for writing films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones's Diary and Love Actually - has been together for more than 30 years.
