PUNE: Diana Iorgova, 52, was enjoying her weekend when she suddenly started getting calls about an Indian shooter breaking her record on Saturday. The 1996 Atlanta Games silver medallist was happy to hear about the development, but more than the joy, she was puzzled by the question she hadn’t thought about: Why did it take 29 years?
“I am very happy that your shooter (Rhythm Sangwan) broke the record today. I congratulate the shooter and you all. But it took so many years,” Diana, now a sports administrator, told TOI.
