Welsh comedian and presenter Rhod Gilbert has issued an update to his fans after undergoing cancer treatment. He said he and his family are "optimistic that I will come through this".
Posting on his Facebook page, Rhod said he wanted to "clear up any confusion" and reassure his fans. He explained he had been diagnosed with cancer earlier in 2022 and received treatment from Velindre Cancer Centre and University Hospital of Wales.
Rhod said: "There has been a lot of stuff in the press recently, so I thought I would clear up any confusion; my cancer diagnosis happened earlier this year (it’s not a new development). I have since had surgery, radiotherapy and chemo at Velindre Cancer Centre and UHW, Cardiff."
