Ask most people to picture the energy transition and they will describe something photogenic. Turbines on a ridgeline. A solar array catching the desert sun. Nobody pictures a row of steel enclosures humming behind a fence, which is inconvenient, because that row of enclosures is increasingly what decides whether the photogenic stuff actually works.
Jesse Williams has built an investment thesis around the unphotogenic part. Williams, a Las Vegas-based entrepreneur and investor focused on the energy sector, is the CEO of Rezerra, a clean-energy infrastructure firm that just closed a $23.8 million acquisition of 49 battery energy storage systems. It is the kind of deal that rarely draws headlines and, in Williams's view, the kind that will matter most.
