Ahead of the Jets’ season-opener against the Bills on Monday night, ESPN NFL analyst Rex Ryan gave some extremely high praise to his former squad Sunday morning.
“This is my Super Bowl winner,” Ryan said on Sunday NFL Countdown. “This is the most talented roster the Jets have ever had. And I don’t care — way more talent on defense than I had.”
Ryan coached New York from 2009 to 2014 and was at the helm when the team went to back-to-back AFC championship games in large part due to their dominant defense. Ryan’s comments are just the latest hype around the team that has been the talk of the offseason, but they may have the roster to back it up.

The team added Aaron Rodgers, Dalvin Cook and already features last season’s offensive and defensive rookies of the year Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner, respectively. Their defensive line is riddled with game wreckers and were the star of this season’s Hard Knocks on HBO.
NFL fans will get their first taste of the Jets at full strength on Monday Night Football with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
