Around 13kg worth of illegal drugs were seized by Revenue officers at Rosslare Europort today after arriving on a trailer.
During a search using Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner, officers found more than 5kgs of heroin and around 8kgs of cocaine.
The estimated value of all the illegal drugs found is thought to be more than €1.3 million.

The trailer was unaccompanied and arrived on a ferry from Dunkirk in France.
A man in his 30s was arrested by Gardai and taken to Wexford Garda Station as investigations continue.
In a statement published today, a Revenue spokesperson said: “As a result of routine profiling, Revenue officers seized over 5kgs of heroin and almost 8kgs of cocaine, with a combined estimated value of more than €1.3 million, at Rosslare Europort.
“The drugs were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched an unaccompanied trailer that had disembarked a ferry from Dunkirk, France.
“The search, carried out with the assistance of Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner, led to the discovery of the drugs concealed within a hidden compartment of the trailer.
“A man in his 30s was arrested by Gardai and taken to Wexford Garda Station.
“These routine operations are part of Revenue’s ongoing work targeting drug smuggling.
