The world’s top 10 airport lounges for pre-flight relaxation have been revealed at the “Oscars of the aviation industry”.
Aviation rating organisation Skytrax announced the results of its World Airline Awards based on its annual global passenger satisfaction survey.
For 2026, New York LaGuardia’s Chase Sapphire Lounge was crowned the world's best independent airport lounge.
The US lounge features two storeys of seating, a seasonal menu featuring local bites, craft cocktail bar Apotheke and complimentary 30-minute facial treatments that can be booked via a QR code.
Plaza Premium Lounge Rome Fiumicino airport took second place, closely followed by the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong airport in third position.
Three Middle Eastern lounges, Bahrain’s The Pearl, Primeclass Lounge in Muscat, Oman and Plaza Premium in Dubai, also ranked in the top 10.
Only one UK airport lounge made the shortlist – Plaza Premium in London Heathrow’s Terminal 4.
The Heathrow lounge offers a complimentary buffet, free-flowing, self-serve beer, wine, spirits, juices and coffee, a dedicated quiet zone and shower facilities to refresh before a flight.
Plaza Premium Group was awarded the world's best airport lounge group title for the 10th consecutive year, with TAV Primeclass in second place and Chase Sapphire Lounges in third.
