Nottingham Forest are set to receive a windfall for allowing seven of their players to represent their countries at the upcoming World Cup.
The trio of Brennan Johnson , Neco Williams and Wayne Hennessey were all named in Rob Page’s Wales squad, while Cheikhou Kouyate has been selected by Senegal and Remo Freuler will travel to Qatar with Switzerland. Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath and summer signing Brandon Aguilera have also been called-up by USA and Costa Rica respectively after impressing while out on loan.
Every Premier League club is set to be compensated by FIFA for allowing members of their squad to go to the tournament. Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United will recoup over £1.5million by the end of group stages, as a result of having the most players out on international duty.

The fees stand to be even higher as FIFA pays clubs £8,500 per player, per day. As there is six days of training prior to the tournament and a 13-day group stage, each player will have earned their club a lump sum of £161,500 before the knockout rounds get underway.
Forest currently stand to earn a total of £1.13million for allowing seven of their players to travel to Qatar. That amount will then increase by £8,500 per day, should any of the club’s representatives advance to the knockout rounds, with a further 16 days from the end of the group stage to the final.
The World Cup begins with the opening game between Qatar and Ecuador on Sunday, November 20. Forest’s Welsh trio, as well as Kouyate and Horvath, will begin their campaigns the following day, while Aguilera’s Costa Rica are set to face Spain on November 23 and Freuler will be last to get underway against Cameroon on November 24.
